Golden Days: 1/48th Monogram F-86 Sabre
The first boxing of the 1/48th Monogram F-86 Sabre kit dates back to 1976. While this kit has been eclipsed by newer and better versions, back in the day it was a nice model to construct.

Fork Tail Devil: 1/48th Academy P-38J Lightning
Academy's P-38 Lightning is a reasonable depiction of the type with a few fit and detail issues but nothing you can't handle

End of the Prop Wars: 1/48th Fujimi P-51D Mustang
I won't spend a lot of time recollecting the pros & cons of this 1973 P-51D Mustang release by Fujimi, as it is not an available contender

Diamondcutters: 1/48th ESCI / ERTL S-3A Viking
This 1/48th ESCI/ERTL S-3A Viking kit was a gem back when it was originally released in 1980, mainly due to its finely engraved panel lines and general good fit of parts.

Daunting Example: 1/48th Monogram SBD-5 Dauntless
This is another ancient 1/48th Monogram kit and build. Their Dauntless is 1960s vintage and was a toy more than a model.

NFWS Tiger: 1/48th Monogram F-5F Tiger II
Monogram's 1/48th scale aircraft typically contained good detail in few parts, all at a reasonable price. This 1985 release of their 1/48th Monogram F-5F Tiger II although now dated with its raised panel lines and comparatively simple components, is not up-to-grade with current kits, however it still has potential.
